The topic of Performance Dogs covers a wide range of activities. Most people are aware of training their dogs for "obedience", but did you know there are a host of other pursuits available to you and your dog? Larger dogs, such as Saint Bernards, can earn titles in Weight Pulling and Draft Dog (pulling a cart). In addition, Borders and Saints can be trained for agility and tracking, and Borders are excellent "earthdogs".
The photos on this page show some of our dogs participating in these activities. We are always eager to help others get started in Performance activities with their Saints and Borders. If you have any questions be sure to send us an email: jech.saints@juno.com
Please visit the SBCA website and check out the Performance page. Saints doing weight pulling, drafting, snow trials, agility, obedience and tracking are all featured there. If you are interested in performance activities for official titles, the Rules and Regulations for tests are included on these pages as well.
